Nature’s Empire

Nature’s Empire is a gentle nature revolution. The collection takes inspiration from France in the Napoleonic Era, and focuses on the disparate relationships to nature of the classes. The working class lived within the natural world, depending upon it for their livelihood while royalty viewed nature as something to be observed and used for decoration. This collection brings together these views with multifunctional garments and decorative details. The silhouettes are informed by french garments of the early 1800s, combining the styles of the working classes with those of royalty. The fabrications are all natural fibers ranging from cotton velvet to silk organza.
